The Limelight - From Clubbing To Shopping

First they turned The Palladium into a NYU dorm, then CBGB into a upscale clothing store, and soon The Limelight will be a shopping mall. Really.

Maybe it is the religious rights groups that might be more surprised, since the building was once a Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion built in the mid-1800's.

I used to go clubbing at The Limelight and remember when there was a murder affiliated with party promoter Michael Alig....Did you see the movie "Party Monster"?

Located on West 20th and Sixth Avenue, tenants are beginning to sign on, including future first-floor residents Caswell Massey; Sabon; BR Cohn, wine and olive oil; Hunter Boots; It’s Sugar; J. Sisters Brazilian bikini waxing; Little Miss Matched; Tantra; Mari’s Brownies; Cupcake Stop; 92nd Street Eyewear, and Carter & Cavero, olive oil from Spain. The second floor will house the sneaker gallery, Maison 24 home decor, and jewelry.

Don't worry, if you missed out on the club days there, there will be a whole shop with Limelight branded t-shirts, teddy bears and hand bags. (gag).
