Is The Shrug Coming Back?
Last night I stepped back in time to the early '90' at the Sonic Youth show at The Wiltern. Great people watching. Grrrreat people watching. Flannels - well, we haven' evolved much still...Doc Marten's, ripped clothes, food long goatie's...braided....and shrugs. I remember my shrug. What was the point of them? I mean it looks ed sort of cool and deconstructed at the time. I remember mine was so warm, but so odd, right? Well - this girl standing out side the Wiltern must have kept hers or Urban Outfitters is making them have a come back.

Henri Bendel
I'm sure alot of you know that Henri Bendel opened a shop in the Beverly Center. It's filled with all Bendel's branded merchandise. I guess in the past few years they have been phasing out clothing even in their Manhattan store, and capitalizing on their strength of accessories. Well, I'm guilty of going there to check out the goodies and I even own a brown and white shower cap. I think if I was to add anything to my collection from there, it would be their enamel bangle's. A cheaper Hermes alternative.

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore - Hair
In the early '80's I used to watch the show Alice. At some point I heard there was a movie that spawned the tv show, and I finally just watched it. The Scorsese film starring Ellen Burstyn...and her bowl cut. For some reason I thought it was adorable and I would totally cut my hair like this if I could pull off bangs.

Diane Arbus
I went to the 30 year retrospective at MOCA, in Los Angeles, and there was such wonderful inspiration to be noted. I always find myself so drawn to the eccentric characters of Diane Arbus. While this photo isn't quite a great example of her work, I loved this bathing suite that these girls are in. Hello designers? Copy it please and send me one. Thanks in advance.
