I'm sure alot of you know that Henri Bendel opened a shop in the Beverly Center. It's filled with all Bendel's branded merchandise. I guess in the past few years they have been phasing out clothing even in their Manhattan store, and capitalizing on their strength of accessories. By the time I add my toiletries and blow dryer, my bag is so full with very few things, but they still take up so much room. Every time I drive down West 3rd Street I mourn the loss of The Built By Wendy store. Her cool vintage inspired shop closed a year ago and I just love her girly eclectic style. I can still look at her things online, and maybe visit her remaining shops in New York and Brooklyn, but I miss the proximity of it. Online shopping is just the first step to my shopping process. I like to feel the texture, see the colors, and see just how the piece of clothing looks on ME, and not just the cute skinny models photographed. Arriving at H&M on November 14, are Jimmy Choos shoes. Let's see, the shoes will probably be made cheaply, flimsy materials, sloppier production and they will be thrown around the store like they are worth 5 dollars with a plastic band holding them together. For $299 for boots, and $129 for clutches and shoes, I would rather wait for the end of season sale at Neiman's or Barneys. First they turned The Palladium into a NYU dorm, then CBGB into a upscale clothing store, and soon The Limelight will be a shopping mall. Really.

Maybe it is the religious rights groups that might be more surprised, since the building was once a Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion built in the mid-1800's.

I used to go clubbing at The Limelight and remember when there was a murder affiliated with party promoter Michael Alig....Did you see the movie "Party Monster"?

I showed up at the event/book signing for The Sartorialist without having rsvp'd. I brought my paperback book and went for it. I was the third person to get my book signed, and I was surprised....he was nice. He introduced himself, exhanged witty banter with his fans and came off charming. I had heard otherwise, but I was glad he was different than what I had expected.

The only Ayyyy yahy yahhhhhy of the night were the fans. It was like a costume ball of people wearing their most "interesting" outfits they had to show up for Schuman.

The cutest girl on my last production shoot always wore these cute scarf things in her hair and I through she looked adorable. Sort of 80's, like the wacky friend from Pretty In Pink, yet....more....chic, and not as wacked out. Mind you, this is in Argentina, where everything right now is '80's. From the random 80's tracks that weren't necessarily #1 ever...and some styles that will eventually make it here.

Gossip Girl brought back the headband. The preppy hair band with a big bow....but Argentina is bringing back the scarf bow hair accessory. If only I could figure out how to make it work in my head, I would have bought a ton of these things in different patters.

It may not be news to you, but to me, it was a eye opener to find out that sexy and expensive lingerie shop, Agent Provocateur makes outerwear. Outerwear that might make you blush, that is. Only the brave ones could rock this Betsy Johnson circa 1985 looking sweater adorned with penis's. Yes, Penis's.

Always in search of a great bag that has enough space to put the essentials - phone, keys, glasses, lipstick, etc that doesn't weigh me down. This purse is kinda hot. The light tan color shows the detail of the buttery leather and the color will most definitely warm up with wear. So the question is...600 pesos, roughly $185 USD. Worth it? Thinking about it.

So, I'm traveling...and silly me only decided to bring one pair of tights with me to go out at night. Well, actually mistake number one was buying them at H&M for 5 bucks, because after 20 minutes I got a hole around the ankle. Weird spot, right? So I was bummed and I haven't had time with my work schedule to go out and buy some more. Well - So, I saw this picture and would I look like a train wreck if I just rocked it. Especially in such a conservative city? Hm. I'll post about it if I can pull it off.

The Argentine's don't know of TOMS. To them, they are just farm shoes called Alpargatas and they're cheap. TOMS is a great company doing great things....but I thought I would share the colorful options you can get in Argentina.
